Hi,
To promote discussion and questions, I will post a question of the week. Can't wait to hear all of your responses. We will also tell you about our hometown.
Tell us about your hometown. If we came to visit you, where in your hometown would you take us?
What would you show us? If possible, include a picture or two.
My hometown, Targu Lapus, is really small and there is nothing much to do but the region is full of surprises. When some friends from America came to visit, we first went to the lake Lighet that is near the forest and we were amazed by the wonderful landscapes around us.If you decide to visit our town, you must go to the churches near it. If you are lucky and visit them on sunday or on a holyday, you will see something really special:kids and not only, dressed in traditional costumes of their village. Many of them know traditional dances or even songs too.
ReplyDeleteI personally really enjoy nature so the next stop would be 'Defileul Lapusului'or'Mountain Tibles',two incredible spots to visit and reconnect with nature
There are lots of other places to visit but i would just go for a walk around the town because you could easily see it in a few hours and then enjoy a BBQ night with the locals.
Question for Amy: What's your favorite place from our town?
P.S Can't wait to read about your hometown too!
Laura,
DeleteWhat a perfect description! I agree that Targu Lapus is surrounded by beautiful rivers, forests, and landscapes. When I was there, Ms. Ciupe took me to one of the churches nearby. I can't remember the name of the village. I think it started with R. :) The church and the cemetery were an incredible sight! Visiting your school was a favorite place. Also, I enjoyed walking around the town and seeing people sitting outside at the cafes and restaurants. I loved walking from Aurica's Guest House, across the bridge, and then through the neighborhoods. Visiting with friends there and feeling so welcome were definitely some of my favorite things.
My hometown is Birmingham, Alabama. But, I live in a suburb of Birmingham called Roebuck. If you came to visit me in Birmingham, I would take you to popular places and tourist attractions. We would first go to the movies and maybe eat at an uncommon restaurant so you would have something different from everything else around. We would then go to this mall called the Galleria, the most popular mall in Birmingham. In the time you would be here, we go to The Civil Rights Institute and 16th Street Baptist Church, a historical museum for the history of Alabama. Finally, even though this would not be our last stop, I would take you all to McWane Science Center which is a really fun science museum that majority of the kids here have been to at least once.
DeleteThis is Destiny My home town is north Birmingham Alabama places I would show you is downtown of Birmingham because it have a lot of places to eat and we have a lock in where you try to unlock the clues and get out . The restaurants we have are really good and the food is also good . We have the civil rights museum that we could go to

DeleteMy hometown is Pinson, Alabama, it's a small town in the outskirts of Birmingham, Alabama. A popular place in my town is Turkey Creek. You can swim, hike, and fish their. I always go hiking or swimming their. Also I would show y'all the scenery of Turkey creek when you reach the top of the mountain. Later I would take y'all to Chick-Fil-A, a fast food restaurant.
DeleteMy hometown is Birmingham, Alabama and stay around the Irondale area. first place i'd take you to railroad park because alot of people come out there on the weekends and there are food trucks and other fun and family oriented activities. Next i would take you to a barons game which is baseball, I don't watch the game because there is so much more to do!! If you visit my city you should get to experience friday night lights which are high school football games where two cities and others come out and watch the game but the vibe is something that you can actually feel!!

DeleteHere in Birmingham, we have many things that count as 'tourist attractions'. Though there is a chosen few that always interest me. The types of art museums or historical monuments always are an interest to me. Though, being a teenager here we mostly go to malls or trampoline parks with friends to chill out from the day earlier. Here in Birmingham, we always have many different things to see, just depends on your interest!
ReplyDeletemy name is lexi , i was born and raised in birmingham al. if you came to visit you would love the food and entertainment like top golf.

I live in Birmingham, and i would take you to the Birmingham botanical gardens.
ReplyDeleteI live in Mccalla and if you ever visited I would take you to splash adventure and the Mcwane science center.
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Bailey. I live in Birmingham Alabama and there isn't really anything to do here, but I could take you to the botanical gardens or to the Zoo and then out to eat.
ReplyDeleteI live in Grosii Țibleșului, a mountain village near Targu Lapus. If you like doing sports and discovering nature, I would take you to Mountain Tibles. There you can see a lot of plants, amazing landscapes and many animals, such as bears, foxes, wolves, squirrels, but you shouldn't want to see the dangerous ones. There is a legend about a fairy of the forest who fell in love with an ordinary man. Their love story wasn't accepted, so she turned them into stones. On the mountain, there is a place called "The garden of the forest maiden"(the approximate translation) where it is said that you can hear her shouts and whispers in the night. For those who are interested in Romanian traditions, my village is the place where they can see old houses, clothing and customs.
ReplyDeleteI live in Cerneşti, a village near Targu Lapus. It is a very quiet and beautiful place, but there is not much to show or to do. But there are some places near here that I could show you. There is this village very close from mine, and when you get there you are like in the fairy tales, you are surrounded by nature and you feel that everything you’re thinking about at the moment becomes clear and all your worries go away. There is just you, the blowing wind, the woods, the flowing water, and you should only fear the animals of the forest. This is a place where you should go camping because it is totally worth it, and there is nothing more relaxing.
